The Caribbean Collection by N Y X

Stumbling upon this collection was a bit of a dream. When you’re from the smallest twin-island Federation in the Caribbean—St. Kitts & Nevis—you almost don’t expect anyone to recognize you, much less for a cosmetic company to name 2 of 10 eyeshadow palettes after your hometown. Maybe I need to broaden my scope of hope, but I am overjoyed that NYX Cosmetics did just that with their Caribbean Collection.

This is by no means a new collection. It first hit the virtual airwaves just in time for summer ’09. So, it’s not too ironic that being in a summer-state-of-mind I would find myself impressed enough to put these NYX palettes on blast. I love a good/great/special eye shadow palette. I love the ease of having my fave of the moment, or week or the season just a purse-dive away.

Additionally, it’s by no means new colors or formulations. These palettes are everything NYX lovers have already fallen for. I’m a lover of the NYX brand, for its affordability, accessibility and range.

The newness here is the packaging, and this particular Caribbean Campaign that still is so very current in my life.

The Caribbean Collection 5 Color Eyeshadow Palettes contain the original, best selling NYX eye shadows in one sleek case which is perfect for carrying around. The colors are handpicked by NYX’s creator and inspired by fashion, colors and scents experienced while travelling the world. As with NYX popular eye shadows, the product offers bold colors, high pigmentation, and lasting wear.

The NYX story goes a little something like this:

NYX was named after the ancient Greek goddess… NYX originated and is headquartered in the heart of sunny Los Angeles. The cosmetics line was founded in 1999 by a young entrepreneur name Toni Ko. Ms. Ko has been involved in color cosmetics since she was a teenager and has always desired to create and share a line of cosmetics that provided quality products at approachable prices.

NYX offers the best quality of cosmetics at attractive prices. Yes, that’s right, you can splurge without guilt. This has made NYX the fastest growing cosmetic company in the United States. The ultramodern and stylish packaging fused with the huge selection of highly pigmented colors continues to catch the eyes of many hip and sophisticated makeup gurus and has become a fave in their kits.

The Caribbean Collection 5 Color Eyeshadow Palette offers 10 combinations from which to choose and can be purchased at NYX Cosmetics or at your favorite online shops and sellers. The collection includes:

~
I Dream of St. Thomas
I Dream of St. Kitts
I Dream of St. John
I Dream of Jamaica
I Dream of St. Lucia
~
I Dream of St. Maarten
I Dream of Antigua
I Dream of Nevis
I Dream of Barbados
I Dream of Aruba
~

I’ll leave you to guess which one is a personal favorite. Be on the look out for my foray into the world of Vlogs and Tutorials as I plan to showcase each and every single one!

Are you an eyeshadow palette lover or a single eyeshadow kinda gal? Have you ever tried NYX?

  1. what happen to “I dream of St.Croix”

    • Good question!? I was a little surprised. But if the story is true then the creator of NYX hasn’t been there yet. Maybe she needs a special invite! :)

  2. I agree with Fanny. What happened to “I dream of St. Croix?” LOL. But I like the “I dream of Nevis.” I’ve never seen that collection, where are they sold?

    • Leria, I’ve only seen them online. You can find them at sale on places like http://cherryculture.com and the like. I would just google it. I think even as just a collector’s item it’s worth it. Happy shopping if you do decide to get it! And make sure you get on YouTube to check out my videos later this summer :)
