Wanted: Danielle LaPorte’s ‘Firestarter Sessions’
I consider my wanteds to be somewhat of a goals lists—not a mere wish list—more of a things-to-do—and definitely a work-towards.
Danielle LaPorte is hotness! Not trendy hauteness. Not flash-in-the-pan hotness, but pure-unadulterated hotness! Her brand of whitehot truth was a streak of lightning across the predictability of my life of seven months ago. I stumbled across her blog when I first started Dasheen. The first post I read: hot advice for anyone with a website, blog, business, career or j-o-b. yep, I’m talkin’ to you was immediately color-blocked in magenta, printed, each item neatly cut and organized on an inspiration board.
The ones that cut to the quick for me:
I have been eyeing her Firestarter Sessions for a hot minute. Forget want, I absolutely knew that I needed it, but chose to lay back in the cut, because this entrepreneurial ME was NEWNESS and I simply didn’t trust my instincts enough to know if this would be the best course.
I kept thinking that Dasheen needed to look and taste and feel like this or that, preoccupied with an IDEA instead of admitting to a whole VISION. I kept comparing myself to the establishment. Remember, The Caribbean Writer? Vol. 1 Valid question, but what was I really getting at? Why was I writing? Why was I taking up online space? Did I really think to be the banner holder for a region? Or did I just really want to fly my own flag?
These are the kinds of questions and analysis that reading Danielle’s whitehot truth pulls.
She is like my New York Times and WSJ or even my Griot. Like I would say, ‘I’m on my whitehot truth java.’ I want it daily. No offense to the New York Times or WSJ or Griot, but when I read those guys, I’m aware, and sometimes I am upset (although not necessarily to action). When I read her, I am emboldened and I become a more substantial and sustainable force because I acknowledge, I move on and DO.
I think that’s what a space online that has a premonition that it could be something more, does or should do. This is how I know that the day MUST come when I put my money where my mouth is and invest in my dream. I can’t wait. I am saving for Danielle LaPorte’s FireStarter Sessions with a smile on my face.
In reading her a couple days ago, there was: strike a love match: you buy. we give. everyone wins. a special fire starter sessions program event and I was brought back to that fledgling firestarter inside of me. The desire wants to become a conflagration and I think I and WE should all take advantage.
Until then, there is a wealth of information so pure and free that it can only be called truth!
Here’s Danielle setting the tone in one of her earlier post way back in January 2009—
Before we go any further with this white hot endeavor, I need to make a declaration: I’m tired of trying to get somewhere other than where I am.
Book sales. Subscribers. Site traffic. Facebook. Twitter. Converting “users” into revenue, and revenue into a lifestyle, and a lifestyle into something that resembles my version of success so that I can feel fulfilled, and then feel worthy of feeling fulfilled.
I’m interested in liberating truth, raw reality, and grace. I think feminine power and progressive commerce will revolutionize how we live. In my experience, if you steer clear of dogma and muster up more love than you thought you had to give, then your vitality increases, satisfaction sets in, sweetness surfaces. I believe in the creative power of good feelings. I’m convinced that the desire to be real is everyone’s divine imperative. Yeah!
